Hello friends! I have always had a passion for living a healthy lifestyle though cooking, nutrition and fitness. I grew up with one parent who was an amazing cook, and one who barely knew how to make eggs… It is safe to say I know who I got my cooking skills from. Having such a contrast of skills in the kitchen is also what led me to develop recipes for all-level cooks and wanting to make the cooking process feel like a comfortable place for all!

I am originally from California and went to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where I earned my BS in Food Science and Nutrition. I recently moved to New York where I pursued various careers in the Food Industry, ranging from culinary work to operations in consumer packaged goods. In addition to my culinary career, I am a registered yoga instructor and have decided to continue to utilize my knowledge of fitness and nutrition by becoming a private fitness instructor and nutrition coach. I love to work with people and currently work with all ages.

My growth and development in both the kitchen and my own yoga practice is ever-changing. I have built this website to extend my knowledge and skills with others, and one day I hope to open up my own health food cafe and yoga studio. The recipes that I post are meant to be easy and encourage home cooking for all! My cooking style is very California inspired, incorporating a lot of colorful vegetables and a focus on seasonal produce. Some of the recipes are completely my own, and others are derived from chefs and websites that I highly admire. I hope that you find this information helpful. I am always open to learning about new opportunities and would love to hear from you if you have any ideas.

How am I different from anyone else?

Good question! There are so many people constantly developing and sharing delicious food recipes. I work on developing dishes that can be made by anyone hoping that it will motivate and inspire others to cook. Clients tell me that they get afraid to add their own twist to a recipe and get nervous if they don’t follow the recipe precisely. I want people to know that it is okay to improvise and not be perfect!

I think my lack of perfectionism can be seen as a strength and at times a weakness. The beauty of not needing to be perfect leads to taking risks and trying new things. It makes life both fascinating and exciting. I try to live my life with the idea of a continuous strive for improvement, as opposed to perfection. Ultimately, I am here to help others realize that we are all learning and growing each day, and it is ok to not always be the best. Whether it be cooking a meal, exercising or practicing yoga, these things are supposed to be fun. I hope that through my posts you can find your freedom to let go of whatever might be holding you back and get inspired!
